Celtic Animals Project: Nimueh and the Crane

Apr 10, 2012 15:43

Title: Nimueh and the Crane
Artist: vensre
Rating: G
Character: Nimueh
Content notes: The Celtic sign of the Crane roughly corresponds with Aquarius, and is said to represent magic, shamanic travel, learning and keeping secrets, and reaching deeper mysteries and truths. It is sometimes associated with the rowan tree; the rowan knot in the background is based on Imago Corvi's tree designs. Sandhill Cranes mostly hang out in northern North America, but have made it over to Britain enough times for me to justify using one - in my family, Sandhill Cranes signify omens or precognition. Media: pencil lineart with digital coloring. Thanks go to yue_ix, phoenixacid, themadlurker, magog_83, and lunchy_munchy for their help, encouragement, and enthusiasm. And of course Toasty, who posed for me. ♥
