Awww, thank you very much. (I'm trying to learn Old English, because I am very sad indeed. *LOL* However their constant use of the dative bewilders me completely. They don't JUST use it where the dative should go in a sentence, they also use it after particular words and verbs...plus the fact that I'm totally rubbish at languages anyway. So the grammar on this is probably all wrong.)
Really! That's terrific. The pronounciation is a bit of a bugger. I noticed on the show Gaius said something during the spell in The poisioned chalice when he was trying to make the healing potion. (I can't remember what word it was, but it was one of the "ge" ones, like geferan or whaterever), and he pronounced it Ge-feran, when according to the books I've got it should be pronounced Yuh-feran. (Yep, nit-picking is fun. *LOL*)
(If you ever fancy friending me and learning Old English together, then maybe we could have our own little Anglo-Saxon club and bounce the language off each other. *G*)
Oh, that is beautiful! Absolutely stunning work. He seems to look a little forlorn about the eyes, which is really nice. :) And I second that DevArt reference - I am so there! ;)
Aww thank you. Someone else said he looked wistful. It wasn't intentional, (I have to be honest), he just came out that way. I was aiming for wry amusement, but he just came out looking terribly sad.
I'm now justifying it by thinking that maybe he's an immortal nature/magic creature, and Arthur is mortal. *G* (I really ought to pretend that I thought of that BEFORE painting it. *LOL*)
Ahhh, I always do that whenever I do anything arty - think up the interesting deep meaning and symbolism stuff afterwards. Say it was subconscious - that's even better. XD
There are an awful lot of talented people in this fandom, in all the different areas, (writing/wallpapers/painting/digital art/manips etc etc), it's really very inspiring. (And manips and wallpapers take loads of skill, I couldn't make a good manip if you threatened to shoot me.)
<3<3<3 That's really lovely. I love all the details around the edges and the old English is a wonderful idea! I want to ruffle his hair, it looks so tactile.
