Beer bread

My wife and I scored some bread starter from my mother in law.  The kind that you have to "feed' every 3 to 7 days to keep it alive.  Well, the bread was delicious, but it turned out to be a hassle.  We "killed" the starter twice.

I have since found a great and EASY recipe for homemade bread.  Thought I would share.

3c. Self Rising Flour
2/3 c. Brown Sugar (I like the dark)
12oz. beer (Any beer will work.  I have only tried Negra Modelo, and Shiner.  I think I liked the Shiner best)

Mix those 3 ingredients together with your hands.  Put in a greased bread loaf pan, and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.  Remove, and pour 1/4 - 1/2 c. of melted butter over the loaf.  Bake for 15 more minutes.

Let me know what you think.  If you try any other beers, let me know what you like better.
