"Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ." - 2 Thessalonians 3:5

It is not we who must make ourselves love God. It is God who must make us, and direct us to love Him. We, by the same token, cannot become patient. The patience with which Christ has, the divine patience of God, is likewise a gift from God from His direction in our lives, and not an attainable virtue by our own account. I pray that each one of us is granted these gifts, because we need them dearly.
