hmm. i just ordered Piper's "God's Passion For His Glory: Living The Vision Of Jonathan Edwards". i cant wait to finally read Edwards essay "The End For Which God Created The World". i also just dloaded a techno remix to Pachelbels "Canon In D"...interesting and somewhat addicting. bleh, i just looked across my growing collection of books...ugh. reading is a terrible disease, and knowledge is an endless void. two major things i have been contemplating lately.
1-the enormity of the fact that we are created in God's image. i plan to have something compiled on this soon, but it is such a large topic, ive gotten dilussions of a book. haha time will tell if that ever comes about. but pretty much, i theorize that there is absolutely no characteristic, motivation, or desire that is not, in its root and pure form, the same as God himself. i will expand on this idea later.
2-steve got me into alistair begg. alistair begg made me think. it is God's desire that all men be saved. but God did not decree this to happen. this theory will have much more support at a later date, but i do believe the reason for this is because God's chief desire is that he be glorified to the fullest extent and his desire that all men be saved is not his greatest desire. because if it were his greatest desire, it would have been decreed. i say this because he does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked. but at the same token, he takes pleasure in the display of his wrath and justice because they display his sovereignty and supremacy. so the death of the wicked is mixed "emotions" if you will to God, but yet he is still pleased because his nature in its fullest is displayed and glorified and by all men being saved, he is only glroified by hy his mercy and grace, but not to his fullest because his wrath and justice are an equal part of his character. that is my idea. i shall defend this later.
hmm, the traditional composed Canon In D is so much better, but the techno version is still fun. oh well...Emperor...mmm black metal is as grandeur as classical...so both are supreme. hmm, i should eat dinner (at 3 am...wow) and sleep soon.
