Remember the time

I remember...

...crying the first day of kindergarten when my mother said she was leaving me at the school.

I remember having a pen-pal from Utah when I was in third grade, but never really kept in touch after the school project was over.

I remember being in the drama club for two years in junior high. Never really understood what I was doing there.

I remember dreading going to wrestling practice and eventually dropping off the team, mostly because my father pressured me into joining and going.

I remember my best friend from junior high, and how we drifted apart once we hit high school.

I remember getting into a car accident with my brother on the last day of my freshman year, before my last exam.

I remember the pretty girl that sat next to me in history class from Guyana who always asked me to help her with her class work.

I walking to 7-11 in the dead of winter for lunch, just to get a slurpee, and walk back in the cold drinking it.

I remember graduating from High School and being sad when I realized that it was over, only to laugh my ass off later that same night as our graduating class celebrated at project graduation at the Rutgers sports center.

I remember all of this and many other things. As I sit here, about to go into my fifth month without a job, I'm tending to reflect on where I've been and what I've done. I don't know, even when I think I have a good idea of what's going on... well it all changes.

Draven, never forgetting where I was and where I came from.
