Read this line in Brene Brown's latest book recently (which has becomes super corporate jargonised (see circle back, SFD and other acronyms)): picture them without the armour of their titles, positions, power, or influence.
Saw that in action when Anthony's baby shark item /energiser made everyone do a silly dance together. After that it was hard to not see everyone else in the roof as fellow human beans, all equally self-conscious.
Other amusing moments throughout the two days:
-Hearing about someone getting a parking summons (aka saman) while parking because.. forgot to activate parking.sg while rushing to a meeting on... how to make Singapore car-lite.
-Lead facilitator announcing CEO has veto rights, despite a vote having already been taken. CEO asks (Board) chairman for his decision. Chairman goes "a good board knows when to defer to management". CEO goes "we don't have to decide now". the potato passing continues into the future.
-group director of finance going "PLG (properties and lands group i.e. the commercial group, where amanda is at) is very important they're the only group that brings in money" lolol
-one of the DCEOs bringing up (again) how he grew up in a rental flat in the 60s/70s.
Other quotable quotes like Jayson Goh going "people don't quit the organisation they quit the people".
