Start With Why

Tasked to prepare a "powerful introduction" on "why am I here" for tomorrow's programme. Got a bit stuck so writing it out streamofconsciousness style for some clarity.

"So what made you take 5 days of leave to come to NTU?"

Doing something that scares you, stretching myself

exploring alternative career paths

nurturing the developer/teacher in me

yes, the above is all valid, but the concise answer is that I find it meaningful. Meaningful because I can contribute in my own unique way as a bridge between the super-experienced faculty and the not-so-experienced students. A book I read recently "The Courage To Be Disliked" defined happiness as the feeling of contribution. And me being here, for this 5 days, is my own way of contributing back to programmes that have given me so much.

I'm happy with the result. Next up, the deep sharing welp.
