Came home and talked to my mum about how my day had been, and she called me a (unqualified) marriage counsellor. >____>
But also while talking to her managed to crystallise some practices I've been trying to practice (hurhur) in my interactions with friends, namely:
- To listen openly without giving advice (unless asked for)
- To suspend judgement (unless asked for)
- To be kind
- To be present
Think the last two points pretty much covers everything, actually. Presence and compassion. The rest is detail and flavour.
Life is relationships. Connection and compassion.
Much to be grateful for. Yet, much to work on.
