Doubles



I have two doubles.

1. Andrew Butler is a fantasy fan. I have never met Andrew Butler and, as far as I know, I have never been mistaken for him. I hope he has never been mistaken for me, because he doesn’t deserve it. I insist on my middle initial, M., to avoid being confused with Andrew Butler.
   
2. Andy Sawyer is a librarian who specialises in science fiction. Many people have emailed me suggesting lunch in Liverpool, where Andy works, and I have to point out that for me it would be an eight-hour round trip. I am not Andy Sawyer. There is, of course, nothing wrong with being Andy Sawyer. Andy Sawyer is better at being Andy Sawyer than I am.

I wonder how many lunch invites I’ve missed?
