What I Really Really Want

Jan 17, 2008 01:37

Every time I go to London, I pass one of the Dulwich stations. Oh, I thought, I ought to be able to change somewhere and get there without having to go to Victoria and back.

Parently not. Not without having to walk to West or having to change at Gillingham and London Bridge, or Orpington and Paddock Wood, or maybe Tonbridge and Bristol Temple Meads.

Grr.

Or, I can travel from Bromley South. 14 minutes. What a shame my train doesn't stop at Bromley South. Oh, it fucking well does, chiz.

Or, then again, the timetable tells me "Please be aware, you may need to buy separate tickets for this journey, as a through ticket may not be available. If you don't want to travel via this route, click 'Restart journey' at the bottom of the page and try again." WTF? Someone appears to have moved Bromley South. I can only go there via Victoria on Saturday. WTF?

Apparently there's engineering works. From West or via Gillingham it'll have to be. I wonder if I can use my Oyster Card or not to do Dulwich-London.

Don't want to walk to West. Although I do want to come back to West if I want to see The Kite Runner that night. Although it's only marginally easier than East, and we'll have the old if I get a return will I just miss the penultimate bus and have to walk thing - or prevail for a lift - and if I go Sunday pm then at least it is convenient for being that end of town at 6pm...

Somehow I feel I want to go to Dulwich on Friday instead - but I bet the veg'll be late. Have Awful Feeling I'm having meetings next Wednesday. And the next couple of weekends are out. Hey, I could have gone last week end only I was planning to see The Assassination of Bleeding Jesse James by the Sodding Coward Robert Ford then, but that went pear-shaped. And I have to fit in Eastern Promises, too, which was Friday night. Maybe I do that Saturday pm, then Kite Runner. Oh look, it looks like the Gulbenkian Cinema is one of those websites I can no longer open for Inexplicable Reasons.

This was meant to be a five minute query and in bed for 12.30. Aargh.
