Since I have been writing all of my biking stories recently over a
pink racing I have had little to nothing to say over here on this blog. I am actually going to tell a story though that is only mildly biking related, but first two things about money
I don't have any more of it.
This isn't entirely true, I've gone beyond not having any money and I am now firmly in debt. In the last month or so I have bought a Conquest, ordered a Rush Hour, and I'm building my dream XC (ish) race bike. It's all costing me a bit of money and even though all the prices were insanely low through buddy discounts, shop pricing, and ebay I'm still spending money that I don't really have, but I have decided that this is my last opportunity to be irresponsible so I'm going to start digging this hole. At one point after my sophomore year I was more than $2000 in debt to my parents... it's looking like I'll be at least that deep in upon graduation... but I'll have some fast bikes.
LAF puts it to better use than any of us do.
Just in case any of you aren't reading
pink racing I am riding in the Livestrong Challenge this year in honor of Susan Nelson, My Grandfather, and to remind all of us in good health that we should be grateful for our good fortune. My personal goal is $500, and Team Fatty is trying to set a new record for most money raised, so
come on over and help out a good cause.
Now for a story.
I was riding home yesterday, and my phone rang. I was carrying it in the pocket of my jersey because I am back on campus today so I saw no reason to bring my entire bag of goodies home with me. As I dug it out of my pocket I apparently answered it, but then with my gloves on I accidentally hung up the phone when I went to say hello. Before I put it away it rang again, so I answered while climbing out of the dip on Hillman Highway and it was Evelyn from Shadowbox. She thought it was quite funny that first she got what sounded like a phone being dug out of a bag and then I answered breathing heavily... we had a great discussion about answering the phone at inopportune, to say the least, times. After that she gave me half price tickets to the sat night show on Dec. 20th, so if anyone is going to be in town let me know soon and we'll get you added to the party... it's going to be a good great show.
