"Invisible Children" Please Get Involved
Hey yall, this isnt a forward or anything. this is me, sara, talking. ok there is favor i am going to ask of everyone.
NORTHERN UGANDA CALLED THE WORST HUMANITARIAN CRISIS IN THE WORLD TODAY BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF ATTENTION. 1.7 MILLION PEOPLE FORCIBLY DISPLACED AN ESTIMATED 20- 50,000 CHILDREN ABDUCTED TO FIGHT AS SOLDIERS. TENS OF THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN COMMUTING NIGHTLY. 130 PEOPLE DIE PER DAY IN NORTHERN UGANDA DUE TO VIOLENCE
ON APRIL 29TH IN OVER 130 CITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY, THOUSANDS ARE LYING DOWN TO DEMAND THAT OUR GOVERNMENT TAKE A STAND AND PUT AN END TO THE NEED FOR NIGHT COMMUTING, CHILD ABDUCTION, AND WAR IN NORTHERN UGANDA.
these little children (8-14 yrs old, some as young as 5 yrs old) are leaving their homes at night in fear of being kidnapped and being forced to fight and kill.
This documentary was recently shown at my college and I think you may be interested. It really is a sad situation but if ppl join up, we can make a difference.

Ugandan rebels abduct children (8-14 yr olds) from their homes at night and force them to fight in the rebel army. Support is growing, but we need more to make a difference - whether you're African or American, we are ALL human beings and this should not be allowed to go on.

Go to the website: Invisiblechildren.com and click on the icon at the top "Global Night Commute" sign up for the one being held in Austin TX. what we are doing is walking with our pillow and blanket (like these poor children do) to the Capitol Building and we are going to "lay down" there. We need to get our governments attention and show them how important this really is.
