My fishtank is an example of a welfare state. I feed the fish, provide them with a comfortable environment, and nurture them when they're sick. The fish really don't provide anything except something to stare at. They don't manufacture tiny fish sized crafts or write "The Great Aquatic Novel." I do use their byproducts (fish poo water) to keep my bamboo healty; which provides me oxygen. However the fish use up most of the oxygen anyway so that hardly counts.
I'm pretty sure the fish don't even see me as a benevolent God, which is how I feel when I look at their little world.
They need to get jobs, do they make fish sized hammers that don't require opposable thumbs?
