I brought Penny Lane to work today.
She just got her uterus removed and supposively still thinks that she's pregnant (she's not) and I thought a day at the Pink Papaya would be just what she needed to brighten her spirits.
She's been great all day, and I really enjoy having her here. I think we've really bonded.
But ever since she's been here, I've been treated like chopped liver:
Me: Hello! How are you guys?
No response.
Me: Hello!!! How are you??
Customers: Hi.
Then Penny walks up.
Customers: Well, hello! How are you, you pretty little puppy?? Hello! Hellooooo!
(the customers are still in here, mind you. I just really couldn't believe the difference in how they treated me versus her and I had to note it right away, before I forgot. It's okay. It's in my job description.)
At first, I was really really angry over the fact that they blatantly tried to ignore me and only acknowledged my existence when I was overly persistent. But the second the dog walks up, they act all happy to be alive- asking the DOG how she's doing today.
Hold your breath and wait for a response.
But then they just tried to purchase Penny's neck scarf the groomer gave her to wear as a headscarf for themselves.
Now I just feel bad for them and how completely stupid they are.
