there isn't much to say. I am working, and coming home. picking up, and playing wow. I am extremely stressed. there isn't much in my life that isn't stressful.
since I am stressed, I haven't posted much. the posts would get boring, same thing every day.
but, as a distraction, I am reading
http://www.prop8trialtracker.com/ . it's pretty amazing how most of the contributors to and commenters on that blog are so unaware of the factors in play for a trial on the constitutionality of a law. reading their surprise at some of the testimony made me reflect on how un-self-aware many liberal activists are. I mean. really? you were actually surprised to hear that losing every fucking election about gay marriage shows gays have no political power? no, really? you didn't think that the ads supporting Prop 8 worked becuase there are actually homophobes who genuinely believe you want to fuck their kids?
it's hard not to second guess the plaintiffs; they seem to be shooting for a home run. e.g. I'd've played up the hate crimes more, since the Prop 8 proponents were claiming to be victimized for their beliefs. IMO it's pretty easy to see how in the narrow case the situation in California, with its four separate classes of married residents, violates the 14th amendment. but the plaintiffs have gone farther and have definitely laid a case out that shows the law was passed for the sake of animus, and did a decent job showing there isn't really a rational reason for the law. I think the defense intervenors really have to respond to those two points if they want to win.
anyhow, there are also transcripts posted
here. I expect the court recorder to have a more accurate record than the live blogger.
