There are really three Californias. One with its cultural capital in SF, one with its cultural capital in LA, and one whose capital is Fresno. Bakersfield and most of the central valley--SO Fresno.

On the flip side, their current mayor is named Swearengin. Which is great for Deadwood fans who need a hooker killed.
