Today is apparently Elvis' birthday. I'm not that big an Elvis fan, so I would not have known this, except that we happened to choose Chuy's for lunch today, and Chuy's is all about The King, baby.
Today and today only they are having some Elvis themed specials, and if you dress up like Elvis or Priscilla, you eat for free. Of course, with no foreknowledge we didn't dress up, but we did take a look at the specials menu.
I should probably say right now that I had a salad for lunch, with very little dressing. Because after lunch, when the waiter told us the Elvis specials were only available today, we ordered the Elvis PB&B for dessert. mmmm
Peanut butter and banana inside an egg-roll sized fried tortilla with cinnamon and caramel, served with vanilla ice cream. For those who like such things, I must say it was damned yummy. I only had half of one of the rolls, but mmmm. Long live the King, baby.
