So I'm standing here at my counter, thinking of blissful oblivion when *ring ring* my phone goes off playing the theme song to the notoriously funny Red vs Blue show that can be downloaded from their website.
Anyhow...
I answered this phonecall whist at work, and received the happy news..
I got GOT A NEW JOB!!! It's at a Verizon Plus store. Basically Verizon's landline service tha involves DSL, phone, DirecTV, etc. I'll be making like 10.25 an hour starting, plus bonuses which could *double* my pay.
Holy shit. I mean that.. It's like planting a garden, and having God himself squat and pinch off a loaf so I can fertilize the soil and have a good crop. It's that damn good.
.... *grins* that WAS nasty wasn't it?
Anyhow.. I get to leave this company of tyrannical representatives of anthropromorphic fuckwads, and go to a place that the people are smiling, is unionized, makes great money, wonderful benefits -College is paid for with them, entirely as well as free insurance - and wil be a 9.30-6 job in which I get weekends off.
Weekends off, my god. This revelation is akin to being told that the original Transformers series is coming back on tv *and* drinking Tang *AND* being allowed to participate in such an activity.
So I am VERY tempted to 'stick it to the man' as it were, in my last few days here. (next thursday, the 14th is my last day here at RadioShack) I'm debating if I should
a) type up an email, cut and paste it into the company's intranet email service and forward it onto everyone in the district, my boss, and his boss.
b) Do the same thing, but with a fax machine.
The contents of this message would be very professional, detailing and explaining events that had taken place under the dictatorship of rule that is my boss, Arfak Udowllah. Things such as how he had orchestrated my demotion MONTHS before actually telling me the activities I needed to do to keep my job. I would detail how he said, "You will never have a position of responsibility again in this company as long as I am here, and the only reason you still have our job is be cause your manager spoke up for you." The details of the exchange would be explained, and likely cut and pasted into this LiveJournal so you readers can read and be shocked. I also would explain how it's these events, being forced from management, assistant management, by a vindictive person who had it out for me from day one, how he demoted and fired many others who didn't deserve it.. how he created such an unpleasant work environment that at LEAST 12 others are quitting after Christmas... it's these events that are leading to my quitting of this company, forever, and all time.
So I'm moving into a new phase of my life. I've been with RadioShack since November of 1999, and I did fine until this year when my boss decided he wanted one of 'his' MIT's in my store, rather than me, who was promoted by someone else (footnote here: everyone who was promoted by the previous DM, had been systematically kicked out of the company. I am the only one left, and I am leaving too, but at least on my own free will)
They will use me as a scapegoat, as they always do. If there is a loss in any of the past three stores I"ve worked at, they will accuse me of theft. It's how RadioShack works. It's the whole "It's not my fault, blame the new guy" except it's the old guy who's leaving this time. What's sad is the theft goes down for a fe months, then starts up all over again and they blame someone new.. and the cycle keeps continuing.
Pathetic.
So I'm looking forward to my new life with Verizon. People there seem genuine, happy, sincere. Things you don't see in many RadioShack stores. The pay is good, benefits good. Life will be good I hope as well.
Anyways, this is where I am at now. Still scraping by making 5.50 an hour here due to the lousiness of the store RadioShack dumped me into, until I move into greener pastures of Verizon and make more.. Geez.. I'll make double what I do now, even if I fart around doing nothing. If I sell, well.... that's just a happy ending.
If any of you readers want to leave me a message giving advice about how I should part from RadioShack's clutches, please do. I would *love* your suggestions.
thanks! and bless'd be!
