Nominations Update & * RULES CHANGE*
Hello all!
I can't believe I was worried about getting enough nominations to run this round! We've got plenty. Too many in some categories, in fact. And yet, still not technically "enough." That's what I'm here about.
In the "Magic in a Single Charm -- Best One-Shot (1001-7500 words)" category, there are currently 27 (twenty-seven!) nominees. Only four of them have received more than one nomination.
In fact, according to the current rules, we only have enough second-or-more nominations to run 5 categories! All but one have three stories in it, the last has four.
I can't ask for you to read twenty-seven stories in just one category. I won't, that's not fair, and it's no fun. I've just thought of a solution to the problem of so many nominations.
If you've already nominated, I'll be commenting to your noms with instructions. If you have yet to nominate, then here's how it's going to go from now through the end of this round.
Since this is the "Best of 2008," it doesn't make sense for someone to nominate five fics for "Best Smut." In theory, there can be only one, right? So from now on, you're only allowed to nominate ONE story per category. I suggest making a list of your favorites, then picking which fic best fits which category. A story might fit in three categories, but then you've used up your nomination in those three categories.
Does this make sense? I've made a new nominating form that will hopefully clarify any confusion.
