Round 5: "The Best of 2008" will begin Tuesday, April 21, 2009!
Here are the rules and general information for this round.
Note: Rules and dates subject to change as needed. We will NOT make a change without announcing it on the community and highlighting the changes in a different font color.
General changes from previous rounds:
1. This round will be 2008 fics ONLY
2. We'll be trying out a NEW system for nominating and voting. THERE WILL BE NO SECONDING PHASE. We will have a nomination phase followed by a voting phase. More details will follow.
3. We have an archive community! At dhr_archive you can find the 2008 Master List.

Round FIVE
Rules, Regulations, Categories & Other Important Stuff
General Rules:
- Should be a no-brainer, but this is a Draco/Hermione award community. All nominated stories must contain Draco/Hermione as the main relationship, and artwork must feature Draco, Hermione, or both of them.

Nominations
- Nominations for Round Five will begin Monday, April 20. There are two ways to nominate: the nomination post and through email to dramioneawards@gmail.com.
**All comments will be screened.**
**Anonymous nominations will not be considered.**
- There will be no running list of nominations. Similar to the way seconding was done last time, those who nominate will provide a list of all stories they believe deserve recognition. We will be counting nominations. At the end of the nomination phase, the top SIX stories will move on to final voting.
- If there are ties, we may decide to run seven stories in those categories.
- A story/author must be nominated twice (in a specific category) to be eligible for that category.
- You may nominate an unlimited number of stories and artwork per category. However, a category must have at least 3 stories nominated before it will run for the round.
- You may only nominate ONE story per category. Pick what you consider the BEST of 2008 in that category.
- We MUST hear from the author before a story can reach the final Voting phase.
- Stories which won in previous rounds are eligible for nomination. [ reference] Only a few stories from Rounds 3 and 4 fall into this category, so I don’t think it will be a big issue.
- You may not nominate yourself.
- ELIGIBILITY: In all categories except "Best WIP," all stories must have been COMPLETED in 2008. For "Best WIP", all stories must have been STARTED in 2008. The dhr_archive community is available as a resource. On this community you can find posts that contain an extensive list of fics completed in 2008. However, we can't claim that this list is exhaustive. You are welcome to nominate a story not on the list, but we must be able to verify that it was completed in 2008 (or started) to be eligible. If you nominate a story that isn't on the lists, we'll add it to the appropriate post so that others will see it as well.

- Each story may be nominated for up to three categories per round. If a story is nominated for more than three, we will contact the author/artist, and he or she may choose the categories in which the story will run.
- In final voting, an author may be only be represented by ONE story per category. If an author has two different stories nominated for the same category when voting starts, we will contact the author, and he or she may choose the story that will run.

- Categories must have THREE nominations to run for voting. Most categories will run six stories, but some may run seven (in case of ties) or fewer than six.
- You may vote in one of two ways: via screened comment on the http://community.livejournal.com/dramione_awards/33650.html"> official community voting page or via email to dramioneawards@gmail.com.
**NO anonymous votes will be accepted**
- Voting will either:
[1] be THE SAME as in round 3, with each voter listing their top THREE stories in each category, in order of preference, using a form provided. [1 = top choice, 2 = second choice, 3 = third choice. All votes will be weighted. All stories given a “1” vote will receive 3 points. A “2” vote, 2 points; a “3” vote, 1 point. The story with the most points, wins.]
OR
[2] be done with a form hosted on a site other than LiveJournal. We don't use the polls provided on LiveJournal because we don't want to introduce any bias into the voting.
- You may vote only once per category. You do not have to vote for all the categories at once. Please do not attempt to vote for the same categories more than once. If I find out you are doing this, you will be banned from the community.
