Post-Hogwarts Fic Recs
Looking for recommendations! Anything post-Hogwarts or post-HBP and the characters don't return to Hogwarts due to the war. War fics are of course welcome, Auror/partner fics are welcome, marriage/reconciliation fics are welcome. Basically mature characterisations for Hermione and Draco in their 20s-30s. No blushing virgins, school boy/girl personalities etc.
Some of my favourite fics are The Fallout, Cruel and Beautiful World, The Revenant, Midnight (If this fic was complete, I have a feeling it could possibly outshine The Fallout for me. This one seems to be a slightly less well-known war fic around here, if you haven't read it then I highly recommend - beautifully written, beautifully crafted, heart-wrenching in a subtle way).
I also like fics in the genre of Nineteen Years, A Fruitless Year.
What makes it for me is snarky, sarcastic banter between the two, witty and well-written dialogue. Love it when the two go head on, both strong and dominant characters. Weak/needy/submissive Draco and/or Hermione breaks it for me. Puts me off a bit when they're OOC, but I'm not too fussed (eg. Hermione in the beginning of The Fallout almost made me stop reading, but in the end I still loved the fic!).
