Dear Dramione Community:

Would someone else like to take on this project of compiling the dub-con, non-con/rapefics, etc. out there for Dramione? The truth is, I just don't have the time or energy right now to work on this project.

I have to be honest: I hesitated to even make the dub-con list once it was first brought to my attention after posting the non-con list, because of the slippery definition of what constitutes 'dub-con'. As Fanlore.com pointed out, some fans don't even think dub-con should be given legitimacy as a sub-genre because 'no' means 'no', regardless of the circumstances, and therefore all 'dub-con' is really 'non-con' disguised under a pretty term to legitimize rape. I knew that degrees of consent would be debated, and as a result, there would be questions as to where to properly place fics that feature both non-con and dub-con in the content, or fics where it seems like dub-con at first, but then turn into consensual sex, or whether sex pollen fics were non-con or dub-con, especially when discussing drunken one-offs.

Last night, I wondered if it wouldn't be easier just to delete this entire thread because it was beginning to become more work to compile this data than I'd anticipated, and quite frankly, it was creating negative feelings that I didn't want to have.

It occurred to me a few moments ago (after being up all night writing and considering this issue) that this list does, no matter its controversy, serve a purpose in directing readers towards certain types of stories that may interest them (in the case of dub-con and non-con/rapefic, at its most basic, that would be the repercussion of the use of sex to shift the balance of power in a relationship). I think it's a worthwhile effort to maintain the list... it's just not one I can continue to pursue given my current time constraints.

So, any takers? Does someone want to copy-paste this list into a new thread with them as the maintainer, so I can delete this one under my name? Let me know.

p.s. I do want to make it clear that I didn't decide to jump into making these lists for money or for an ego boost. I only thought I'd help out the community, so people could find fics easier. Personally, I know people are tired of me asking around for fics about Dramione master/slave non-con relationships (*grin*), so the idea of compiling them all in one place just seemed to make good sense to me. There was never any intention to wound authors by misplacing their stories under the wrong category lists or in neglecting their stories from the lists all together, and I apologize if I have inadvertently done so.

I just want to thank you for making both this thread and the non-con one :) As you know, we share very similar tastes in fic and I really appreciate this, because as much as I feel as though I have read every Dramione non-con out there, I haven't! So these lists are always exceptionally helpful :)

(Also, I for one am definitely not tired of you asking for those sorts of fics! I always appreciate your threads ♥)
