I know that not everything on my faves appeals to everyone, but i like to think that the majority of fics on there are at least of a certain writing standard, so then it just depends on the plot you're after.
When i started out reading ff i basically went to the harry potter search bar at ff.net narrowed it down to dm/hg and m rating and then scrawled through all the pages clicking any which caught my fancy. Considering i did that i find it bizarre how i still come across fics completed years ago which ive only just read
