Recurring Trends
Hi there! I've never posted here before. New to the community, not so new (decrepit?) to the ship.
Anyway, I had a poll on my profile at FF.net for several months, and I ended up with enough voters that I thought it might be of interest to share the results with the community.
I wanted to clarify that I don't have anything against cliches. (Where's an accent mark when you need one?) I prefer to think of them as recurring trends, and if they are recurring, there must be something special about them that we find intriguing--or at least expedient. I like seeing how the plotlines diverge from one fic to another. I've definitely used a few of these to varying degrees, and I've read/stumbled across more than one of each of them.
