Went to westerndental.com this morning since I have a little more money coming in tuesday than I thought...$94 to become a member which gets me free xrays and soem other things all year...then for $175 for the surgical extraction of what was left of the tooth that broke and fell out of my head of its own accord a few months ago...their treatment was a little assembly line...but if you dont count the 30 minutes filling out the new patient forms I was done in an hour and sent home with gauze an ice pak some instructions and a scrip for penicillin for the infection that had swollen up my cheek and is now causing my more pain that the fleshy hole in my jaw and for hydrocodone...needless to say ive spent the day at home thanks to my understanding boss...which is good prep in general since I have mothers day dinner with my folks tonight
the dr of record was not the one who was supposed to pull my tooh who didnt have a name tag which i found odd somehow...but my dr of record actually did end up doing the yanking because the assigned yanker couldnt get loose this root that was behind healed gum and still embedded in my jaw...what came loose looked like a bloody fang off a werewolf becuase the infection had covered it with all this stuff...the topical novocaine they used was a wonder...they just swabbed on this dentalcherry flavored stuff and when I needed more swabbed on a bit more but all of it was no more than how much toothpaste you use in the morning and my jaw and inner cheek and that side of my tongue were numb for 90 minutes
it occurs to me now that their fees may actually be high...but a flat fee foe this service or that appeals to me as opposed to getting nickeled and dimed to death....and as a member if any treatments are over $200 I can make monthly payments...didnrt hear what they were but anybody willing to do payments rates hi in my book
and shame on me...I picked the santa cruz branch cuz A. if I go in for soemthing I can go back to work even later that day (but julies quick so she may just tell me to get the earliest appt i can which of course i will ; ) and B. because there was more likely to be a higher number of english speaking staff...so of course my doctor of record spoke good english but had an Indian accent that forced me to verify what he said once or twice
