Seems like ages since I wrote anything in here - I guess it has been a couple of weeks?
Ok, so what news?
I really need to start getting more sleep during the week as it's catching up with me. I still go to bed way too late and only end up getting 5-6 hours of sleep.
My alarm is set for 5am but I snooze it for half an hour before I finally set foot out of bed.
My new work hours are from 7am to 3.30pm but I very rarely actually leave work at 3.30pm.
Mainly this is due to my gym being close to work as I know if I go home first and get even slightly comfortable, then I might just not go. Also travelling back to work again uses more fuel, which seems like a waste to me.
Monday class is at 5.30pm which I can handle as I can catch up on work stuff if I need to, but Wednesday and Friday classes are at 6.30pm! That's a while to sit around work doing nothing.
Tuesday I will sometimes leave on time as I don't go to the gym. Thurday I stay at work as I meet a friend for coffee at 5pm near to where I work.
I'm thinking lately that perhaps I should leave on time on Wednesday and Friday and get into the habit of relaxing a little bit at home then forcing myself to drive out to the gym. It might work.
What prompted this line of thinking was something that happened last Friday night.
My nose and chest was starting to feel congested yesterday at work and my lips were drying out, which usually happens when I'm coming down with a cold or something. At about 5.00pm I was feeling a headache coming on so I decided to set my phone alarm for 30mins and I put my head down on my desk to nap a little. Bloody uncomfortable though so after about 10 mins I abandoned that idea. Bear in mind that I'm the only one in the building at this time, everyone else had long gone. With this in mind, I decided it might be better to lay down on the couch near the front door of the office area and continue with my nap. I had 15 minutes left until the alarm so I turned out the light and lay down.
I'm not sure what woke me but suddenly my eyes snap open and there is my boss staring down at me and laughing. Fucking hell, I was mortified!
This was like a minute before my alarm was due to go off. Why couldn't he have shown up 5 minutes later... fuck my life!
I told him that I had decided to lay down before I went to the gym to see if my impending headache would go away. Good enough he asked me if I was ok, and advised me to drink plenty of water at the gym. He said he hadn't tried the sofa yet but might end up doing so one day and he asked me how it was. Well, the cushions are comfy enough but the arm rest is complete crap... no padding and quite hard.
Sigh... I have an embarassing tendency to snore when I sleep, especially when my nose is becoming blocked. I don't know if I was snoring or not when he came in, so that added to my mortification.
No doubt he'll give me mild hell about it on Monday but we get on well and joke about things a lot, so all good.

In other news... I finished my training for the new role so I've moved up to the next level of pay as per my contract. The next and final level comes after I have done three months, which will be in July.
In reality, I've been doing the role since February when the other guy left but I'm not complaining at all as my new pay is such a leap from what I was earning.
I've even started thinking over the idea again of trying to buy a house.
The prices in the areas I am looking at are not as bat shit crazy as they were a few years ago. I still think most of them are overpriced for what they are, but something might come along.
We'll see.
