Taken from
wolven, because I'm waiting on laundry to finish before I head over to Corey's, and from there, Limerick.
Look at your LJ interests list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.
1) britcoms: I'd been watching Monty Python's Flying Circus, Are You Being Served?, and several others for years on PBS and I got into watching every other one that I could access since my early teens.
2)
dark legacy: a good webcomic that is updated all too infrequently. It's based on World of Warcraft, so if you don't play it, or haven't played it, the comic's not going to be funny.
3) gir: "It looks stupid." "It's not stupid...it's advanced!" I love the Invader Zim cartoon, and gir makes me giggle.
4) Labryinth: Only the best David Bowie movie EVER. Seriously, David Bowie + Jim Henson=WIN.
5) Metallica: What a strange journey for them. I enjoy their music, from beginning to now. I just enjoy each stage of their music in a different way.
6) Photography: I enjoy taking pictures of things that capture *my* interest. I'm also amazed at the power of photos. If you don't believe me, look at an issue of Time Magazine's photograph issues, or any National Geographic just as examples.
7) Shakespeare: ...is the fuckin' man. Is it bad of me, as a confirmed-but-currently-non-practicing Catholic that I've read Shakespeare more often than the Bible?
8) The Simpsons: I have little doubt this show will continue on until I have kids, and maybe longer. I remember back in middle school when I would have many friends who were not allowed to watch the show. I can't think of many shows that still hold that power, nor of many shows that will maintain the longevity.
I had my first experience managing this morning, and what really freaked me out was having to check in 31 boxes of shipment! Other than that, it went smoothly thanks to the girl working with me. I'll have a little more training before the next time around, but I officially start as a "seasonal keyholder" in a few weeks. I get a set of keys, shifts from 8-5 for most if not all the weekdays, and a dollar raise until 1/11/09. I'm ok with it, in that I can still do a show this season and still manage to earn extra money for Christmas shopping.
I'm hoping getting back into theatre will actually relieve my stress over the holiday season, because I'll have an outlet for my tension that builds up when dealing with customers. Also, people CANNOT FUCKING READ! I've had a lot more people lately insisting things are priced differently than the sign, but when I show them the sign and simply point at them, I have to suppress my eye rolling and laughter. Idiots. Also, been having to fight more customers about policies. I'm not a fairy godmother, people, I cannot wave a wand and change the policy set down by corporate.
I like my job, and I often like the customers. It's just that sometimes I want to strangle and/or punch them.
Must get ready to leave, now, finally. I'm really looking forward to seeing friends at Limerick, friends I haven't seen since Dragon*Con!
