Title: Through Faerie
Author: Sarah
Rating: PG13
Words: 562
Pairing: Tristan/Yvaine
Summary: Four loosely connected drabbles about Tristan and Yvaine's later travels through Faerie.
Notes: I got the idea after I finished the book, but I fudged it to fit with the movie too. There are a few elements from the book, but nothing major. Oh and the little title things are from the song Ticks by Brad Paisley.
Disclaimer: I don't own Stardust or the lyrics.

i. I’d like to see you out in the moonlight

The newly crowned eighty-second Lord of Stormhold and his bride were three nights in to their journey through Faerie. They had long since left the realm of Stormhold, leaving control of the magical world to Lady Una until they returned.

Tristan held the reigns of his large, brown horse as he walked beside it. Yvaine rode beside him, perched sidesaddle on a white stallion that shone in the moonlight, but not quite as brightly as the star on his back.

Tristan glanced upwards at his bride, gazing into the soft blue of her eyes. As she smiled down at him, Tristan reached up with his free hand, taking Yvaine’s in his own.

And so they walked together, hand in hand, under the careful watch of the mother moon.

ii. I’d like to kiss you, way back in the sticks

The two lay tangled together in a dark clearing, deep in the woods of Faerie. It was noontime and they were settling down to sleep. (They remained awake from twilight until late morning, sleeping through midday.) Yvaine’s head rested upon Tristan’s bare chest, rising and falling with his steady breathing.

She awoke hours later, just as the first stars of the evening began to shine. Yvaine’s long, white-blonde hair fell down her back as she sat up and reached for her crystal-colored dress. Tristan stirred beside her, batting his hazel eyes as he rose.

Tristan’s fingertips brushed against Yvaine’s cheek as he leaned in for a kiss. Their lips met gently, as they did every evening when they woke up, in a routine assurance of their true love.

iii. I’d like to walk you through a field of wildflowers

Just as Una said, a field of snowdrops could be found on the far edge of the forest. The patch of flowers extended for miles, further than the eye could see. The couple walked through the field, Tristan’s fingers laced with Yvaine’s. The early morning sun shone down as Tristan picked a small snowdrop about the same size as the glass flower he still wore in his buttonhole. He placed the real flower next to the glass one, barely able to tell the two apart from sight alone.

A few yards away, Yvaine sat braiding the lovely flowers into her shimmering hair.

They spent the rest of the day lying among the snowdrops and wrapped in each other’s arms until they finally fell asleep, surrounded by the pure whiteness of the enchanting flowers.

iv. And I’d like to check you for ticks

It was late morning when Tristan and Yvaine reached Stormhold. Tired from their travels, they decided to remain outside the kingdom until twilight.

Tristan set up their camp in the first clearing they came upon. They could barely see the noontime sun through the tree canopies as they cuddled together at the base of a large tree trunk.

Tired as they were, they couldn’t find it in them to sleep. Tristan kissed Yvaine; gently at first, but the intensity gradually increased. His hands found her lower back as he held her body close to him. They moved together with the same curiosity and passion as their first time.

Tristan and Yvaine rose at nightfall to begin their journey into the realm of Stormhold, no more rested than when they first laid down.
