I have done a very good job of saving money lately. First, Bank of America has this great program called "Keep the Change." Every time you use your debit card, they automatically round-up to the next dollar and transfer the "change" to your savings account. Plus, for the first three months they'll match you 100% (up to $250). Then the interest rate is 3% forever. I love it. Then I set up an automatic transfer to my savings of $30 every week. Little by little I'm making progress. So this is the plan: add whatever chunk of my Christmas bonus I manage not to spend, which could be considerable, plus whatever my tax refund is this year and I could have a sizeable chunk of money to do whatever I want with it. I think I need to escape to Europe for a couple of weeks.

I'm really excited about the crop of movies coming out soon. We've got "King Kong" today, which every one is saying great things about. Then of course there's "Brokeback Mountain" which me and Shawna, my Gyllenhaalic friend, are seeing. "The Producers" is going to be fucking funny, so I don't wanna hear anything about it being a musical. (Shut-up. Musicals can be good.) And when the fuck does "The Squid and the Whale" come to Jacksonville?? Probably never.

My show is over this weekend and I couldn't be happier. At least for about a week I'll have nothing on my plate to worry about. Rehearsals for the Valentine's Cabaret are in full force, but I don't have a problem with a few music rehearsals here and there. I like singing and as vain as this might sound, I like to hear myself sing. Luckily we're actually doing stuff that's fun and challenging to sing, so I haven't been completely bored. We've got about a month and a half before the big show and at the rate we're moving right now, it's going to be an awesome show.
