Pointless Story with a Good Ending

Aug 18, 2004 23:45

Today I was at work, as usual, and a phone call came through and I naturally picked it up. The guy on the other end wanted to know if we had delivery. I told him that we did not but we had To-Go orders. So the guy says he has 6 people at his house who want Mexican and wanted to know our web site to see our menu, which I give him and doesn't work. Now he's going to call back if this is what they want to do. A few minutes later, while I'm busy mind you, he calls back, and I have to practically read the entire menu to him because we didn't have a "party package" or something like that. So after much deliberation, he orders chicken enchiladas, steak enchiladas, chicken fajitas, steak fajitas, chicken tacos, and ground beef tacos. Then he wants to know his total. But next he wants to add two sides of sour cream PER meal, meaning 12 sides of sour cream. but that adds about 6 bucks to his previous total of $56.65, so I need to hold while he checks his fridge to see if he has any, which he does, so I need to void 12 things of sour cream. So he's happy with his order and I tell him it will be about 30-45 minutes we were really busy at the time), and that's that. Or so I think, no more than 5 minutes later, the same guy calls back and I'm thinking he wants to cancel his order and that's a big pain, but at least he didn't wait 20 or so minutes, at least it wasn't done yet. But no, he wanted to add more to his order, a side of chips and salsa and rajas con queso, which means I have to re-imput into the comp and run back to tell Frank not to make the order twice but just add it on. I'm ready for him to call back, but he never does. Like normal, we're talking about obnoxious customers in the back while the order was up and I wait to meet this OC, and finally, in he walks and I'm greeted with two palms in the air and a loud "You're the one on the phone!" and I return with a double high five and a "You're the obnoxious customer!" to none other than Mr. Roberts, our favorite Theater Sub. It was so awesome to see him again and hear what he was up to, but he had to get the food back to his house so we parted ways. It was so cool!

Otherwise , things have been kinda interesting lately. Monday I went to the Palms to see Collateral (which was an awesome movie!) and it was great to see people I hadn't in over a week. I finally got JD his birthday present too (I hadn't seen him since before his birthday so I know I'm late but he liked it anyways. I think Kyle's already mentioned how I "seasoned" him and also showed him what to do in a hold up. It was great to see Autumn again, she's a lot of fun. And Shaun, your friend Lauren and I used to train together in dance years ago! It's a small world after all!

I met the new theater teacher and she is really cool. Kieper called me in Monday morning and we did a tour around and I'm going to help her get settled next week. She's going to be awesome.

Kim got back last night so we went out to lunch today. Thanks Kim, I really needed that. It was a lot of fun and whether or not you know it, you helped a lot.

And Shaun, thanks for trying but sorry I couldn't go today. Sounded like fun though. You'd better keep your promise too!

USA is doing great in the Olympics. The Men's Gymnastic competition was the greatest come back I have ever seen in the O games. Go USA!

Well, I think that's about it for this update. Lately it's been a whole lot of work and a lot less play but I'm working on changing that. Thanks for being the greatest ya'lls! Love you!
