Sick
So, Mitch and I are sick with the flu, and he has prostititus, a bacterial infection in his prostate. The kids were amazing. When Mitch picked them up from school, they came straight in the house, Kallie layed down for her nap, Misty went to her room to do homework, and TJ went to his room to clean his mess. Then around 430 they came to the living room, where I was sitting, and we watched a couple of TiVo'ed shows. Then Mitch decided to go and get McDonalds for dinner b/c I was too weak to cook. Misty ate two chicken sandwiches and french fries, and TJ had one chicken sandwich and half his fries. Kallie ate half her fries and 6 whole chicken nuggets! Little piggie. She does, also, like Pedialyte. I cannot stand the stuff, but she loves it!She went back to sleep at 730, and the kids went to bed at 8. They are such amazing kids. We are so lucky to have such well behaved kids. I mean, sure, they have their little things, but for the most part, with their backgrounds, they are wonderful!
They came into foster care in Oct. 2004 when they were found in a hotel room with their birth mom and random guy with drugs (meth and cocaine) on the table and bed. Then birth mom got pregnant again (Kallie) and tested positive for cocaine and meth while pregnant. So she came into custody as well. They were in two foster homes before coming to live with us. One white family and one black family. There was domestic violence as well in the birth family, apparently extremely bad from what we have read. They also have three older half siblings that are not with birth mom. Misty has not opened up about the drugs or violence she had witnessed, and I am not going to push her for it. She will tell me when she is ready.
And Mindy, you can have them any time you wish. You just let me know, and we will come to town. We enjoy letting them spend the night at family's houses. Just like when you used to spend the night with me. Hey, maybe you can teach them to "shoot the plugs"!
TJ wants transformers for christmas, and he found this one he wants at walmart. He is so funny, he said, "this is what santa is going to bring for me." But, I already got all his presents....eek..oh well, he will forget about that transformer when he sees this wicked awesome remote control car under the tree!!!
Misty does not really beleive in santa. I am going to let her have this year, and then tell her the truth. I am going to have my video camera going all morning, from the moment we wake them up to when they go to bed that night, i am so excited!
