Well, its been a long time...
Last time I posted, I was turning in my two weeks notice to Youth Villages.
So...
On Monday, I turned in my two weeks notice to my regional supervisor b/c my own supervisor was not in (of course), and she asked me if there was anything specific that was making me unhappy at Youth Villages. I asked her if she really wanted to know, and she said yes....So, I told her everything. I told her about my supervisor never coming into work, I told her about the lying and the falsifying documents, I told her about the unethical things were going on...She told me I needed to not hold all these things in at my next job, I needed to talk about it and resolve the situation....
On Thursday, my regional supervisor showed up at the office, (from jackson) and everyone was whispering, why is she here, whats going on? She calls me into the therapy room, and my supervisor was in there, too. I thought we were going to talk about what I had said....But....my regional supervisor told me that I was fired. She said I was stealing information from the company to start a new program. So she fired me. I immediately packed my belongings and left. Of course my supervisor and secretary kept swearing they knew nothing about it, they were as shocked as I was. I brought some of my stuff out to my car, and walked back in the office, and walked by where the regional supervisor was...where she proceeded to tell me that if any of the foster parents left Youth Villages and came to my new agency, Youth Villages would be taking legal action against me for recruiting their foster parents. I told her that Angela is the one who told the foster parents I was leaving, and my supervisor actually said to the foster parents "if you want to go with Tracy, thats fine I will get new foster parents". So...I left...I called my new job, and she told me to come to the office. I went there, and she sat me in her office, let me cry and tell her what happened, and then her and my adoption worker took me out to lunch...My new boss actually let me start work the next day!!! How awesome is that?!?!
When I got home, the secretary called me and said I needed to come back to give her the keys to the office (they were at home and we had decided that i would bring them the next morning). I told her there was no way I was going to drive all that way, if she wanted the keys immediatley, she had to meet me halfway. She met me halfway, and I gave her the keys and told her I got to start my new job the next day.
I called my friend Melissa, who had worked with me at Youth Villages and had quit the week before all of this happened. I told her what happened, and she was FURIOUS. She stormed over to Youth Villages, and went off on the supervisor and secretary, and apparently, they ALL knew what was going on.
Turns out, they are trying to scare me off b/c they had the monopoly of Foster Care in Mississippi until I took the new job....They said I was stealing information to start the new program (like the other agency did not have their own policy and stuff). Also, to me, it looks like my regional supervisor was in on all the unethical things going on, b/c when I emailed the director about me getting fired and why, she had no idea about any of the things I had reported.
It was hard to get over. I had a very hard time in January, but now I am so happy, and things are going so well at Harden House. I have about ten foster parents right now, and three foster parents from Youth Villages left and came to my agency, WITHOUT ME ASKING THEM OR ANYTHING, and we had our first placement end of January, and have four more coming in the next couple of weeks. I had an article in the paper this Sunday, and then a TV station called me this morning and wants me to do a presentation on the news about therapeutic foster care. So things are moving and shaking...
I am happy and so very grateful that I got out of there while I had the chance. So many things are going on right now that I am not at liberty to discuss at this time, but what comes around goes around, and things are about to happen....
Our adoption is going well...We have found three kids (siblings) Misty (9), TJ (4) and Callie (3 months) from Oregon that we like, and the social worker for the children likes us, and hopefully is going to take us to committee in the next month or so, and after that, we should know if we are parents! I will keep you all updated.
I am looking forward to Ireland....100 days....So excited.....
I had grand jury duty the first week in January, yes the entire first week...it was actually a lot of fun...learned alot about my county. I have to go back March 6, but I don't know for how long. I won't complain, though..
So phew....thats all....going to watch American Idol now.
Thanks for reading.
