Who-a!
My Planned Parenthood interview was this morning. The past few days I've been boning up (no pun intended) on Insight Theatre and Planned Parenthood in general. Drama King threw some great mock interview questions over the weekend. Despite some mild anxiety symptoms, I felt well-prepared today.
Thank god.
I think I can safely say that was the most intense interview I've had to date. I was questioned by a panel of three: The regional director, the drama coach and the (temporarily) outgoing Theatre co-ordinator. The interview was mainly scenario questions, with a few queries about my training and knowledge of Planned Parenthood/Insight Theatre. They were very nice, concerned with my comfort, patient when I needed a moment to collect my thoughts. Finally, after two hours I'd answered every question. I made a few inquiries of my own, then stood up to say good-bye. That's when I realized I hadn't uncrossed my legs once during the interview. Fortunately, no one noticed my noodle-y stance. Or they did and chose to ignore it.
But it's not over yet. Tonight, the regional director will e-mail a written assignment. Interview homework! Now that's a first.
The job itself sounds really good. From the sounds of things September and October will be crazy-go-nuts, after which time it will settle down into a managable mix of office hours and work in schools. A range of responsibility and reasonable flexibility in terms of work hours. Nothing about this position strikes me as repetitive, which is ideal for the way I work.
So a few hours to relax, before I tackle the written portion of the exam. I'm kind of exhausted but optimistic. Yay!
