Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging, hence my recent absence from LJ. I will do my best to summarize the highlights of my recent wheelings and dealings in a concise fashion.
Very Brief Overview
Rehearsals. Job in Toronto. Wedding in Windsor. Back to Ottawa. Work. Rehearsals.
Expanded Overview
The Soldier Dreams opens tomorrow, so more and more of my evenings are being eaten by rehearsals. Everything's coming along nicely: I like the play and I'm working with nice people. Since opportunities for acting work aren't limitless, I'm happy to be spending my time this way.
The National Judicial Institute hired me to do some work on a training video. I did some projects with them a few years ago and they asked me back. Very flattering. Again, I enjoy the work I do with them and this time they paid for me to come down to Toronto, put me up in a nice hotel and gave me extra money for food. Coincidentally, the author of the the project was my former neighbour so I had a friend on set. Drama King came with, so I also had a friend waiting for me back at the hotel.
After the filming, DK and I made our way down to Windsor. Can I just say the stretch of highway between T.O. and Windsor is boooo-RING! I was near catatonic by the time we arrived. But the wedding was worth it! Not only are our friends an excellent couple, they threw a truly excellent wedding! One of the best I've ever been to.
Now we're back in Ottawa and I'm staring down the barrel of several busy days involving more play, more work and Hallowe'en, which for the first time ever I have no enthusiasm for. I'm also sick, but trying not be. My reprieve will come on Monday, which coincidentally is also my birthday. I have big plans to vegetate, which right now sounds like the best birthday EVER!
