Weekend Update and Other Miscellany

The Weekend

1. To re-iterate Friday's druken entry, I had a blast of a time at hardcormier's birthday get together. There was revelry, commraderie and (obviously) there was wine.

2. Saturday I struggled to teach a playwrighting class of one student. After a brief visit to the hardcormiers and a brief visit home, I had to put on my tour guide hat* and take off to semi-steady job, number #2. Saturday night was spent eating pizza and running lines chez xiz111.**

3. Sunday, I got a much needed Drama King fix. We ran off to Montreal for a swell day of shopping, eating and snuggling together against the windy, rainy weather. The day's highlights included (me)trying on dresses at BCBG, the purchase of two super balls for 25 cents apiece and the end of my week of celibacy!

* Yes, I actually have a tour guide hat. A beret.
** I got to the xiz-pad on the #1 bus which, according to some teens at the bus stop, is "straight up old-school".

Other Stuff

1. Wheee! I redesigned my LJ! It's new and if not improved, equally as good as my old design.

2. I watched the first episode of Firefly yesterday. I was impressed with by almost inhumanlyattractive-cast, the typically Whedon-esque writting and especially the production values. I will certainly be watching more.

3. I signed up for NaNoWriMo! That's right, I'm writing a novel (or something vaguely novel-esque) in a month. I've been debating whether or not to post the fruits of my labour somewhere in LJ-land. On the one hand, knowing people might read my story may bring on the "now it has to be good" angst. On the other hand, I love an audience so knowing people might read my story may be just the motivation I need.

Poll NaNoWriMo

4. Drama Mom called on Saturday, to tell me that's she's decided to file for divorce from Drama Dad (FYI: they've been legally seperated for almost three years). Sometime in the future, I may rail and cry and feel devastated. Right now, I proud of Drama Mom for being pro-active and ending a relationship that was dead a long time ago.

5. I'm hungry. Damn hungry. Time for lunch.
