interesting development...
i almost broke my finger at work on friday.
i slipped on supposedly slip resistant floors, holding a giant salad bowl that weighs a couple pounds. when i fell it smashed my left middle finger, which promptly swelled up to twice its normal size. it didn't hurt or anything (it was rather numb despite its scary appearance) so i kept working for like half an hour, clutching ice in my hand while taking orders and running food.
when it didnt get any better looking after 45 minutes i left work and went to the doctors. thankfully it's not broken, but i do have to wear a metal splint thingy-- allowing me to perpetually flick people off. but if i don't wear it, i could scare little children by showing them the bruises.
oh, and yesterday i quite gracefully slammed the same finger in a door. the metal splint got all twisted and bent, taking most of the impact, but my poor finger still throbs.
ugh.
