sooo i just got back from lisbon which is by far one of my favorite cities we have been to on this trip. it wasnt part of the program, we had a free weekend (we had friday off) so we decided to go to portugal for a few days. it was for sure the best decision we could have made. lisbon is the sister city of san fransisco...there is even a bridge that looks exactly like the golden gate bridge going into the city. it was designed by the same person. there are trolleys and lots of hills and very good food and good music and fun bars. we took a tour of the city for 10 bucks which was such a good idea, and we learned something too! i felt really grown up because i made the decision to go on a tour. you know, when you are little and you go somewhere and your parents drag you to historical places and make you look at ruins or take a tour and you definitely dont appreciate it and you complain the whole time, now i actually made the decision to go and it was really informative and fun. we stayed in a hostel, and despite what he movie hostel apparently portrays them as, it was very very nice. there were 5 of us, and we had our own room, and the lady that works the night shift's name was lidia and she was the nicest person i had ever met in my life. we had a little bit of a language problem, because i dont speak portuguese and she doesnt really speak english or spanish except for a little bit, but we made do by gestures and some spanish words and some english words. nothing got stolen thank god, and everyone had a really great time. except, not is the beginning of hell week! yay! i have 2 presentations, a quiz, a composition and 2 finals! it is going to be awesome. well, the 2 finals are next monday so hell week starts tomorrow and ends on monday. BUT then we are all done and we go to madrid for 4 days and then we get on a plane home and i get to see arthur!!!!!!!!!! you have no idea how excited i am to see him. i didnt think it would be this hard, but it is. but it is less than 2 weeks now! ok, back to researching for my presentation that is on tuesday.
