So, I am in Spain, in Trujillo as a matter of fact, and I decided I wanted to keep a small record of the time I am here, so I have decided to resurrect this journal for a bit. SO! I'm in Spain. We have only been here a week, but I already feel like my Spanish is improving greatly. My host mom is really really nice, and I have had a lot of really long conversations with her, which is impressive because neither of us speak each other's languages (my Spanish is ok, and her English is non-existent). It has been really intense though. It was like being dropped off on another planet and just told to "go with it". I am luckier than most people here though because I have internet in my room, so I have been able to hold on to something a little familiar, which is nice. I also brought pictures with me, and I look through those often...I am having a great time here, it is just really scary when no one speaks your language, or even if they do, they have been told to only speak Spanish. I guess that is how you learn though. Trujillo is a really small city near Cáceres in Extremadura Spain. The city is really old and beautiful and has a lot of history. Yesterday we took a tour of Fransisco Pizarro's house. Did you know he was a bastard son? Yepp. It is 11:22 and I still have a million pages of wicked dense Spanish to read for a quiz tomorrow as well as a paper to write. Awesome. But the best news of all is that Arthur got into CofC!! I don't know why he isn't more excited about it. He didnt think he was going to get in, and he did, in which case *I* would be ecstatic. I am for sure more excited than he is about it though. I guess it is just because now he gets to study what he wants to study and I am so happy that he will at least have a chance. I think that is called amor.
