As I depart for the land of Monty Python and Harry Potter......
I'm sorry if I've been a little out of touch lately. I just got back from a mission trip in Pine Hill, Alabama. And I discovered that something is wrong with my friends page and it hasn't updated itself since June 8th.
I'm leaving for England on Tuesday, which is in three days, which means that if you want to see my beautiful face before August you better call me soon!! It still hasn't quite hit me yet. Actually, I'm terrified that it won't be as amazing as I want it to be. It's like Christmas when you're a little kid: you build it up so much in your mind and then experience the inevitable letdown when it's not quite as magical as you expected it to be. Expectation is a killer.
But I know it will be amazing, somehow I just know.
For those of you who haven't seen me, Philly was wonderful. I was hungry, exhausted, nervous, and sleep-deprived the entire week yet still managed to have a great time. I got to spend oodles of time with some of the most caring and supportive people in the world. And I am now a semifinalist national champion in prose interpretation. Not to brag or anything:)Of course, Jenny outshined me with her 3rd place showing, and I am so proud of her! I've also discovered the true meaning of Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl." You know what I'm talking about MC Lesbo Vader!
VBS in Pine Hill was a cool experience too. Much more fun than I thought it would be. I guess I've been a little worked up lately over my Mom's craziness and my not-so-stellar SAT scores, and packing and repacking. A mission trip was just what I needed: a chance to stop focusing inward and see the bigger picture, that I am a very privileged individual who has been blessed with so much, and that I need to use what I have to help other people. And it really is so rewarding.
Since this is probably my last post before I leave, I just wanted to say that I love all of y'all so much and I don't know what I am going to do without you for a whole month. I know that I truly have the most amazing friends in the world and I am thankful that every single one of you has been placed in my life. Don't forget about me when I'm in the UK. I will tell Prince William and JK Rowling "hi" from all of you!:) Sorry for the sappiness, but I love y'all so so so so so so so so so much!!!!!!!!!!
