My Answer

Within the past week or so, I have been asked two seemingly deep, if not "unanswerable" questions that I was able to respond to without any hesitation whatsoever.

1) What do you think the meaning of life is?

2) If your life ended right now, could you honestly say you lived the way you wanted?

To be honest, their respective answers were almost one in the same. For me, the so-called "Meaning of Life" is to be happy; plain and simple. Focus your attention not on the negative, but rather the simple joys in life, as it is too short and fleeting to waste time and energy being downtrodden. If it makes you sad, angry, or lonely, the solution to these feelings isn't in the hands of another, the embrace of a significant other, or in the wishing to be someone other than yourself, within you. Live every single day as if it is your last.

And if my life DID, in fact, end right now, I could, in all honesty, say that I have, to this point, lived the way I wanted. Regret is a word for those who don't learn from their mistakes or hardships. I have hoped endlessly, loved recklessly, lived happily (for the most part), and done everything within my ability to make those around me smile. I never held back when it came to my feelings and though I may have been hurt because of my lack of constraint, I am filled with nothing but gratitude and I wouldn't change a minute of my silly, random, conflicted little life.

Cheers, bitches.
