Though I generally can't get anything earth shattering done at work, what with the whole "pretty much staying in one room" thing, this weekend was far more productive than I expected. I knit a shawl and started a blanket for myself, watched a ton of great movies -
Bright Star is a must see for anyone who likes poetry, Keats, love, brilliant film making, and/or shiny objects - read a couple of books (one was nothing but common sense and I was stunned that anyone out of high school wouldn't already know what was contained therein), did a handful of crossword puzzles, and reorganized my recipe book. I was quite pleased at the end of it all, though I feel kind of blah because that's a lot of butt time and I tend not to eat too well when I work all weekend, as there's no way to cook anything. No more Triscuits for a while.
In especially good news, I finally get to head back to the gym tomorrow! Woohoo! I've been laying low all week so my foot could heal, but danged if I haven't changed into a woman who no longer becomes giddy at the idea of a day off her feet. By Wednesday I wanted to go for a walk so badly I could taste it through garlic. Step and yoga and, if everything goes to plan, scheduling a couple of times this week with Kelly or Chelsea to put together a kettlebell regimen for me. I got to use them in a random class a couple of weeks or so ago and I loved them, but not so much the class. It doesn't fit into my schedule on a regular basis anyway, but I'm very keen on the new toys. Being away just made me feel not quite myself and these will be a blast on non-class days.
Things have worked out oddly this month and I now have - wonder of wonder! - my weekends free for the rest of the month, so if anyone is up for serious or absurdist shenanigans with me, please do give me a jingle. I'm in need of a bit of hoopla, mellow or wildly off-kilter. But now it's so bed time.
ETA: Oh mercy, you all need to go, right this instant, and read "
Two Gentlemen of Lebowski." It's hysterical, brilliant, and utterly wonderful. I'm supposed to be in bed, but my face hurts from laughing so hard and I'm all awake again, but still dragging, yet I don't want to stop reading. Genius! I want a video of this being performed. :)
