Heads up, ladies
Since October, four women in their 20's have been pulled over and assaulted by a man impersonating a police officer, all around the Sacramento area. All incidents took place after dark. The police have released two very different sketches of suspects, one white and one black, and don't know if they are working together or not. The women said that the men looked and acted like police officers, wearing patches on their sleeves and utility belts. In addition, their cars had a red and blue light strip across the dash. My advice: if you get pulled over, keep your doors locked and call 911 immediately, and ask the dispatcher to confirm that the car is a police vehicle. I remember a story about some old lady doing this a few years back, and they actually caught the guy. If you don't have a phone on you, ask to see a badge, and more importantly, an ID card. Remain suspicious, and don't be afraid to drive away if you're scared.
