[Guess who's birthday it is in Pete's World?
It shouldn't be difficult to tell. When the feed cuts in, Rose is the only one in the silly pink-and-yellow hat. The camera seems to be far enough away that it doesn't pick up many words, so much as tones of voice, as people mill about the room, picking at some white-and-pink cake and laughing at indistinct jokes. Rose is sitting in a chair, surrounded in wrapping paper and what was presumably hidden by it. The young child from before sits on her knee playing with a tiny plastic zeppelin. Someone starts singing 'Happy Birthday' off key, and the feed cuts out.
An hour later it returns, to Rose sitting alone in a chair in front of a computer screen, missing the hat but with a half-devoured piece of cake sitting on the table next to her.]
Right, so this is apparently not gonna let me get to work until I stop and say 'hi'. [She gives the screen a little wave and a smile.] Hi.
