Why is it so hard to make connections? You'd think it'd be simple. You talk to people every day. The potential is there. Every. Single. Interaction you'll ever have, it's there. And yet, so many people can't do it. They can't even begin to try.

I try. I don't always try, but I've spent the last few weeks trying harder than I ever have in my entire life. I've spent the last year trying harder than I never have in my entire life.

I was ready to give up.

But then there's the break. The epiphany. Progress.

So maybe I don't need the things I thought I needed. This whole time, what I wanted so badly was right in front of me. And what I clung to so pathetically, so desperately wasn't that important at all. It was disgusting, and it was sad, but now I'm over it. I have people who appreciate me.

And I taught Claire's cat how to take carrots from my mouth and eat them. It was impressive.
