I was supposed to turn 38 right after the new millennium, but I should look at the bright side that I'm not almost 50 this year, I guess. Where do the years go?

Anyway, considering I completely missed out on Y2K and all that, what did everyone else do to celebrate the year 2000? Or the closest "big" new year for everyone who either doesn't ( Read more... )

I think I didn't really notice when it ticked over to 2000, except to double check that my computer and my equipment was all still working. But just think, next year we can go through the same procedure of not caring that the apocalypse is supposed to happen again.

At least I won't miss both major apocalyptic scares that I wasn't a cause of. Sounds like fun, sitting around not giving a fuck if the world ends.

I suppose that's why most people spend the time drunk. I'm looking forward to sitting around and not giving a fuck with you, actually.

Sounds like a brilliant use of everyone's final minutes. And I'm looking forward to it too. I've certainly have had worse company for the other apocalypses.

I would think that quality of company is the most important factor for riding out an apocalypse, all in all.

It really is. And I'm so flattered that you think I'd be good company for the end of days.

Well, I do tolerate you most of the time.

Just "tolerate"? "Most of the time"? I'm hurt.

Something like that. And mostly because if I said anything else, it'd sound inappropriately mushy. The English language just isn't up to the challenge.

Uh huh. Love you too. You could have at least taken out the most of the time, though.

All right, all right, I tolerate you every day of my life.

Better. Much better.

Also, I've said it before, and I have a feeling I'll say it again, but you are a little bit whipped.

Only a little bit! Hardly at all, really.

Whipped enough that it bares mentioning. ...And repeating.

You're just hoping that through repetition you can convince me that I'm more whipped than I am.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Besides, if my real goal was emotional manipulation, I wouldn't waste my time with simple repetition; I much prefer gaslighting.
