[Elphaba's sitting and staring at the screen for a good few minutes, actually pausing and looking over at one of the mirrors belonging to her roommate that cover the room. For once instead of looking neat and content she looks down trodden and upset.]
I have a question for you all. In your opinion, what makes a girl...no. A woman. What makes a woman truly beautiful. And I do not mean that 'beautiful on the inside' nonsense. I mean in a purely objective way.
Because, surely, it would make much more sense for him to be in love with a beautiful girl. Blonde, pretty, lithe limbed and just sparkling. How can somebody love something with a horrid exterior.
[Sighs to herself, looking back to the mirror once more, fiddling with what looks like a bright pink flower clip in her hands.] I think I may have been mistaken to think he could see through it all.
