[Reeve's memory comes across the network more as a series of emotions and tactile feelings. Visually, the screen is pitch black for the majority of the video. Far from inspiring fear, however, there's just a sense of emptiness. A noticeable void where the terror used to be, but it's been five days in the dark and he's just numb. There's an audio track to accompany the blank screen; the steady drip drip drip of a pipe leaking water. Reeve stands and walks over to it, letting what's left of his water supply drop into his mouth or splash on his face.
After a moment, there's a faint crinkle of static in the air, and an even fainter whisper of voices. A young girl's voice, picked up by a distant microphone and broadcasting through the headset he's wearing around his neck. She fades in and out, delivering only snippets of conversation.]
"Come ... up... try not to drop anybody this time!"
[A man's voice answers her.] "... complete... all ... have been moved."
[A long gap of static, then a robotic voice cuts through, clear as day:] "One lifesign detected."
"...no way anybody could be up there."
[For the first time, there's hope. He's still here, trapped under the rubble -- have they found him? But then the response comes, a male voice, low and gruff.]
"...Rendezvous ... and the others..." [And the voices are moving away. It's over. The numbness is back.
His fingers find the headset still looped around his neck. In one smooth motion, he breaks it in two, severing his last link to Cait Sith, to the world outside. There's a hiss of static, and he closes his eyes, black on black.
He opens them just as the world explodes in green.]
[OOC: Reeve's recollection of Meteorfall. Headcanon has him trapped in the remains of ShinRa HQ where he was imprisoned during the evacuation. The lines of dialogue are Yuffie and Vincent.
Tags in the morning as I must sleeeeep.]
