People are suddenly sprouting cat ears and tails! They're really cute, I want one! Are any of you up for adoption? I promise to give you lots of food and water, and a soft bed to sleep on. And plenty of jelly-bunnies to play with.
I wish I had cat ears and a tail... Maybe Eva would like me more if I did...

But some of the Creators grew jealous and wanted to hoard all the power for themselves. They split into two factions: those that practiced White Magic, and those that practiced Black Magic. A great battle took place in the Arena of the Heart, and during the battle many worlds were destroyed. The nine surviving Creators were horrified by the destruction, and so they gave up their immortality and decended into eternal slumber. Before they put themselves to sleep, they decreed that a test should be held every ten thousand years to choose among their creations one who would watch over the galaxy in their place. This being would become the Avatar, and the test was the Great Race of Oban. Every ten thousand years, the winner of the Great Race of Oban takes over the role from the previous Avatar and watches over the galaxy until the next Avatar is chosen.
Well, that's the jist of it anyway. The Creators are still alive but have entered into an eternal sleep, awakening every ten thousand years to bestow the powers of Oban to the winner of the Great Race of Oban. And well, here I am!

The galaxy I was born into was controlled by a group of humans beings called 'Inquestors' who ruled from their planet located in the center of the galaxy. They were able to artificaly extend their life, and controled the rest of the 'Dispersal of Man' with an iron fist. In the end a young Inquestor rebelled and split the society in two, a 'dark' side and a 'light' side. In the end only five chose the middle road, lead by another young Inquestor,Sirissheh. The pushed the rest to give up their immortality, and end the Inquest strangle hold on the Dispersal of Man.
The result was the peaceful distruction of the race, and the society. Only one Inquestrix remainded, and she too gave up immortality, merging with the Throne of Madness and gaining ultimate power.
So, it has only been 10,000 years since that happened. Does that mean it is time for a new leader take hold of the Throne?

((OOC: BTW, that history stuff... Is that from "Warhammer 40K" PC game?))

It would be facinating if our realities were infact the same, just seperated by vast amounts of time. Unlikely, but facinating. Would if be possible for me to speak to one of the Creators, or are they unable to be wakened after they chose another Avatar?
((OOC: *giggle* Nope, its all from a late 80s book series called the Inquest. Ever since I saw Oban I've been dying to ask someone about the similarities between the two, but have never had a chance...))

((OOC: Ah! For some reason it sounded like something my friends were telling me about in Warhammer. Hehe, well you can always check Wiki for episode synopsis and whatnot for OSR. Or go to the official forum, of which I am moderator.))

((Yeah, I'm the best friend of the one who recomended you to this site. And the impudent one who suggested you have a book thread!))

((Ah! So you're Hat Trick's friend, eh? And sorry! I've been meaning to forward your suggestion to Fanart, as he has admin powers to do that kind of thing. I'll get around to it soonish!))

Hmm. Your reality is likely quite close to mine, as my home planet Uran S'Varek is also a very large and located in the center of my galaxy. Your Many Worlds coordinates should not be far distant from mine. I shall see whether the Overcosm has linked to your reality yet. I will visit after it has. Expect me soon.
