[A television program is being broadcasted! Opening with a plain black screen, a deep voiced narrator beings to speak solemnly.]
Planet Kinniku, the first planet of the Great Kinniku Galaxy. This icon of super human power has been the birthplace of over a hundred champions. This truly blessed planet has a hundred million year history of greatness.
[A statue of a massive, muscular man with a noble air scrolls from the left of the screen, his head adorned with a sharp fin. Following him, other statues, and then paintings and eventually photographs of similar men, all clearly powerful and successful warriors. The final image is Mayumi Kinniku, the father of Kinnikuman. The image is of the king as a young man with a blood covered face, holding up a championship belt, the symbol for 'King' marked on his forehead.]
Mayumi Kinniku, the 57th King of Planet Kinniku, followed in the foot steps of his bloodline. Winning both the 10th Choujin Olympic Championship and the All-Universe Champion title. Under his rule, Planet Kinniku followed its fine traditions, until-
THE PIG THAT WOULD BE KING!
Twenty years ago, the last successor to the Kinniku throne was sadly lost in an accident, leaving King Mayumi heirless. In that same accident, he instead gained a pig. That pig proved to be both a pig of great power...AND GREAT HORROR!
[The following text is accompanied by video of the events it describes.]
Entering the Kinniku Planet Combat Olympics, the pig dominated all three events of Judo, Boxing and Wrestling. But the pig was not satisfied. Challenging King Mayumi for both the title of All-Universe Champion and leadership of Planet Kinniku, what ensued was a simply incredible match, lasting sixty five minutes, and by a score of two matches to one, the pig became King Ton, the Pork King! The new King made the noble warrior planet into a world of pigs!
The Kinniku Clan's Mayumi was too weakened by age to save the planet-so a search was put out to find one of the successors to the throne.
[Video shows a small child, the only servant of the Kinniku clan left flying a space ship, whilst the Kinniku family waves him off.]
And one was found! Suguru Kinniku, known on his adopted home world of Earth as Kinnikuman! Nicknamed 'Burning Kinnikuman' and 'Pig Face', known as the 'Worst Super Hero of the 70s'! But, he was of the Kinniku bloodline, and when brought to the planet, he challenged King Ton. Lets watch.
[The video shows King Ton waiting in a wrestling ring, wearing a smirk and the champion belt. The challenging Kinnikuman drops from the sky above the arena, landing gracefully in an incredibly showy costume, adorned with pearls, gold, silver and feathers.
Posing quite dramatically, the moment is ruined when he is offered flowers by a supporter, a beautiful girl. Kissing her hand, he is severely slapped, his costume knocked off. The announcer speaks-]
"King Ton is so confident in his supreme ability, that if Kinnikuman can win a single match, he will be declared the champion! What confidence! Although Kinnikuman is certainly looking sure of himself as well!"
[Whilst awaiting the bell signaling the start of the match, Kinnikuman checks inside of a pouch which contained his garlic-the source of his power. Unfortunatly, it is empty. Skillfully hiding his panic, Suguru instead allows his pride to take over. Adorning a judo jacket, he turns to his supporters.]
"Awaaahahah! I don't mean to brag, but my confidence in judo is supreme!"
[With the bell ring, the match ends in two seconds as Suguru is simply thrown out of the ring. Following on to the boxing match, the wounded Kinnikuman again addresses his supporters.]
"Awaaahahah! I don't mean to brag, but my confidence in boxing is even more supreme!"
[The bell rings and within five seconds, Kinnikuman has been pummeled so badly by an endless flurry of pork flavoured punches that he is knocked out.]
""Awaaahahah! I don't mean to brag, but wrestling is my specialty!"
[This time, Kinnikuman seems to know what he's doing. Instantly climbing the belt buckle, the announcer explains what's occurring.]
"That's the position for the 'Flying Body Attack'! Can Kinnikuman actually perform this difficult move?"
[Soaring through the air, arms and legs spread, Kinnikuman dives towards the King of Pork. The video enters slow motion as he gracefully heads towards the pig, and shows in perfect detail as he pathetically bounces off of King Ton's stomach, slamming onto the floor. Leaping onto Suguru, the pig pins him for a three count and it's finished. Kinnikuman has lost utterly. King Ton celebrates his victory as 'The invincible warrior' for all of thirty seconds before a mysterious voices bounces across the arena.]
"Hehehe...You're invincible?"
[Stepping out the shadows, a tall and thin man wearing a white coat and hat appears. King Ton recoils in terror-for the butcher has returned!]
"How dare you run away from me all those years ago, Ikue-Chan?"
[So terrified that his helmet is thrown off, the pig runs, dropping his belt to escape as the butcher chases him off. Mayumi snatches the belt up-As the previous holder, should it the title be abandoned, it returns to him.]
[Mayumi loudly shouts out that he is the champion again, the video freezing on that moment, and gently fading to black. The original narrator returns.]
And so you see, as long as you believe in justice, things will always turn out alright in the end! Even if you're a total loser like Kinnikuman, never give up! Thanks for watching!
[We're now on Kinnikuman's video camera. In his space ship, he is stradling a man sized doll and attacking it savagely, ranting about how he is supposed to the Prince.]
